I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two-time unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
