The loved ones of teenagers missing after a tragic fire at a establishment in a Swiss alpine town are confronting an agonising wait for answers and pleading for information about their family members via social media.

The inferno ripped through the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Verified images show the roof structure igniting as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.

Authorities have warned that it could take considerable time to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and injured another scores more. Officials stated on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been identified, with work still underway to name the remaining few.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The resident of a town near the city, informed a local newspaper that she had returned to the city to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his father did the equivalent search in the capital, but could not find him.

"I'm living a nightmare, a nightmare. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in critical condition. Words cannot describe it," she told the paper.

She added that some of his peers had been found with burns covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's indescribable; they went through an absolute nightmare."

The Italian foreign ministry has indicated that a number of of its citizens remain missing.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage junior golfer, who hailed from Italy but now residing in Dubai.

The Italian Golf Federation has said that he is dead, without mentioning the tragedy, paying tribute to a "talented young man who carried with him dedication and true sportsmanship."

His father, told media that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around midnight. An official spokesperson has clarified that a formal confirmation of his death is awaited.

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also among the missing. His mother said that he had been on holiday but had gone out with a group and found himself at the bar.

"A close friend said they escaped after the fire broke out and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he lost sight of him," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators said, "I remember his good nature and smile, alongside great responsibility. Every time ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss nationality but lives full-time in the country, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to sources.

Her sibling has shared an appeal on social media, saying the family has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Officials from her other nation say they are continuing to monitor the case.
